A young man named Jack Hoffman recently scored a 69-yard touchdown run in the 2013 spring game for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. In fact, that touchdown run to the right side off-tackle won the game, and he was hoisted above his teammates before a crowd of 60,000 at Memorial Stadium.
No Jack wasn’t 6’1″ 210 lbs. No Jack didn’t run a 4.3 40-yard dash. No Jack wasn’t even enrolled at Nebraska University.
Jack Hoffman is 7 years old and he is in the middle of a 60-week chemotherapy course for a brain tumor. But the players from Nebraska put themselves aside, put football on the side, put fame and pride aside, and handed the ball off to a 7 year old.
And in the end…everyone won.
